Channen enters his fourth season with Walker Racing as the
crew chief on Rodolfo Lavin's #5 Cummins entry. Channen was
crew cheif on Rodolfo Lavin's car in 2003. He served as a
mechanic on Tora Takagi's car two years prior to that. Channen
began his Champ Car career with Della Penna Motorsports coming
on-board as the team's chief mechanic. He served as the crew
chief for World Sports Car teams at Essex Racing (1995 - 1997)
and B & P Racing (1994 - 1995). From 1998 to 1994, he worked
part-time as a mechanic for GT Motorsports while also working
as a fireman in Sebring, Florida. Born in Basingstoke, near
Kent, England, he grew up in the Florida area. Channen currently
resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with his wife, Vicki. Their
daughter, Jessica, graduates from Florida Southern this spring.
