Edwards joined Walker Racing ten years ago serving as the
race engineer for Hiro Matsushita in his first year with the
team. He was race engineer for Willy T. Ribbs in 1994 and
for Robby Gordon in 1995 and 1996. In 1997, he was appointed
engineering manager and became team manager at the end of
the season.
Prior to his Champ Car career, Edwards served as lead designer
and lead test development engineer for the Group C program
at Nissan Performance Technology for the next three years.
He was the race engineer and technical manager at Essex Racing
Services the previous two years.
Edwards began his racing involvement as a designer and then
technical director at Tiga Race Cars. He worked there for
three years and was involved with Group C2, IMSA GTP-Lights
and S2000 programs. Tiga won the Lights class championship
in 1988 as well as the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Edwards has a degree in Engineering Science and Mathematics
from University of Reading, England. Born in Glenn Ridge,
New Jersey, he grew up in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire,
England. He currently resides in Carmel, Indiana with his
wife, Patti, and their two small children, Cereys and Zoe.
